About ChampionsConnect

Where connections become opportunities

ChampionsConnect is a community event and growing platform that brings people together to share knowledge, build relationships and discover new possibilities. Founded by Esther Okon in Birmingham, it was created around a simple belief: talent and ambition are everywhere, but access to the right people, information and opportunities is not always equal.

We bring together professionals, entrepreneurs, career changers, job seekers, students, single parents and members of the diaspora. Some people come with a clear goal. Others are exploring what their next chapter could look like. Everyone deserves a space where they can ask questions, learn from real experiences and make connections that continue beyond the event.

Why we started

Building a career, growing a business or settling into a new country can feel difficult when you do not know where to turn for guidance. Valuable advice is often passed through personal networks, leaving capable people without the access they need to move forward.

ChampionsConnect was created to help close that gap. We make room for honest conversations about career progression, entrepreneurship, parenting, personal growth and the challenges people face while building a life in the UK. By connecting attendees with speakers, employers, business owners, mentors and one another, we help turn information into practical next steps.

What happens at ChampionsConnect

Our events combine inspiring stories with useful conversations and opportunities to meet people face to face. Through panels, workshops, career advice, business conversations and networking, attendees can gain fresh perspectives and build relationships relevant to their goals.

At ChampionsConnect, you can:

  • Hear from people who have navigated career changes, business growth and personal challenges.
  • Get practical advice on CVs, interviews, professional development and entering new industries.
  • Meet entrepreneurs, professionals, community organisations and potential collaborators.
  • Explore opportunities, resources and support that may be relevant to your next step.
  • Connect with people who understand your experiences and ambitions.

We want every attendee to leave with more than inspiration: a useful insight, a new contact, a clearer direction or the confidence to take action.

A community built for connection

ChampionsConnect welcomes people at different stages of life and work. You might be applying for your first role in the UK, considering a move into tech, seeking support as a parent, developing a business idea or looking to meet people who share your drive. There is a place for you here.

We also recognise that opportunity means different things to different people. For one person, it may be an introduction to a mentor. For another, it may be advice that improves an application, a conversation with a potential business partner or simply the reassurance that they do not have to figure everything out alone.

Our journey

Our first ChampionsConnect event took place in Birmingham in 2025. It brought people together for conversations about careers, business, personal development and the power of community. Its success reinforced what we had hoped: when people are given the space to connect openly and share what they know, meaningful opportunities can begin to take shape.

ChampionsConnect 2026 continues that journey. We are bringing together a broader community of speakers, partners and attendees to create another day of learning, encouragement and connection.

Our vision

We want to build a community where access to opportunity is widened through shared knowledge and genuine relationships. Our vision extends beyond one event each year: we hope the introductions, ideas and encouragement people find at ChampionsConnect will help them take their next steps long after the day ends.

Whether you come to learn, share your experience, meet collaborators or support someone else’s journey, you are part of what makes ChampionsConnect possible.

Come as you are. Leave connected, informed and ready for what comes next.
